Viola Adjunct Applied Faculty - Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music The George Mason University, Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music seeks a part-time artist faculty member in Viola starting mid-January 2023. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment. Responsibilities:Teach Applied Viola during daytime hours on campus;Provide leadership to Mason's Viola Studio to include coordination of studio classes as well as on-campus and off-campus performances and events;Coordinate recruitment for the Viola Studio;Coordinate recitals and juries for the Viola Studio; andParticipate in the Strings Area initiatives, including performances, faculty recitals, auditions, etc.Required Qualifications:Master's Degree in Music required; Doctorate in Music Preferred;Successful experience teaching college level;Ability to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; andEstablished reputation as a Violist including live performance and recordings.Preferred Qualifications:Doctorate in Music.
