Driver to operate one or more types of motor vehicles including Sedans, Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), jeeps and station wagons, to provide transportation services to Singapore Embassy staff and delegation from Singapore in a safe and timely manner. Report for duty promptly in proper uniform and physical condition. The driver shall drive based on specific trip assignments or regularly established schedules, over Federal, state, and county roads and highways and city streets in all traffic conditions while adhering to local speeds limits, primarily but not limited to Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia locality. The driver shall perform regular maintenance and wash the vehicle in compliance with established policies, conduct periodic inspection on the vehicle and report any technical problems to the supervisor. The driver shall also to complete trip tickets, preventive maintenance records, and accident reports promptly.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to completion of the 12th grade; and five years of experience in the operation of medium/large size motor vehicles vehicle.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • Valid driver's license. Class "C" or higher commercial driver's license (CDL). DOT Medical Card.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a pre-employment physical examination, alcohol/drug test, driving record check, and driver's license check to the satisfaction of the employer.

Required to report to work during extreme inclement weather or other emergencies, including after-hours and weekend work to fulfill service duties.

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience as a chauffeur for Embassy, foreign dignitaries, and VIPs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Extended hours travelling on roads and highways, as well as moderate bending, stooping and lifting. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview and may include exercise.
