Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a full-time Event/Show Coordinator with at least 4 years of demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating conferences, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions related to conferences such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. The candidate will provide logistical, marketing, and administrative support to support and plan for national conferences and other events for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI).

This position requires strong customer interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks.

This full-time position is located in Alexandria, VA. This position may also be remote. Position may include travel to national conferences.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage event planning and logistics.
  • Provide on-site support for participants and presenters during event, as necessary.
  • Manage all protocol requirements surrounding conference, to include planning, organizing, registration, administration, flag placement, gifts and preparation of conference materials.
  • Provide day of logistical, marketing, and administrative event support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience planning and executing events.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting large events.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high-level attention to detail and ability to carry out multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Experience supporting large federal agencies, ideally CMS.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Experience with conceptual design, branding and marketing for events.
  • Strong time management, creativity and problem-solving skills.

CPI's mission is to identify and combat fraud, waste, and abuse within CMS programs. The office conducts targeted outreach to promote and educate stakeholders on program integrity while detecting fraud, waste, and abuse and preventing improper payments in CMS programs.
