The Lourie Center Therapeutic Nursery Program, Adventist HealthCare, is hiring a full-time Teacher's Assistant in Rockville, Maryland. We are currently offering a $1,000 sign-on incentive to qualified candidates!
We're seeking an experienced Teacher Assistant who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Teacher's Assistant, you will:
•Provide individual and small group instruction to children
•Assist the Lead Teacher in the implementation of therapeutic strategies for the children in the program
•Be available for any crisis that may occur in and out of the classroom, including those that require physical support
•At least once per day, support student transportation by riding in the TNP van
•On the van, the teacher assistant provides a calm, supportive environment for the students and assists the van driver
•Assist in the preparation and clean-up of the classroom as per the needs of the curricular task and the needs of the children in the program
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher and Director
•In the teacher's absence, the Teacher Assistant assumes the role and responsibility as discussed in advance
Qualifications Include:
•Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or other related discipline
•Basic knowledge of early childhood development issues is required
•Minimum of one year work experience with early childhood population is required (i.e.: camp counselor, child care work, college practicum experiences)
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
