Senior Administrative Associate, Dean's OfficeThe George Mason University, School of Business invites applications for the position of Senior Administrative Associate, Dean's Office. The primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to members of the Dean's leadership team as assigned, including: scheduling, procurement, travel, and special project work. Additional responsibilities include supervision of student workers, event support, general office administrative support, and special projects. Washington, D.C. is ranked the 30th most racially and ethnically diverse city nationally amongst cities with a population of at least 300,000 people according to the U.S. News & World Report 2018 Diversity Ranking.Responsibilities:The Senior Administrative Associate, Dean's Office has responsibilities in the following areas:Office Administrative Support - Dean's Office Leadership TeamProvides a wide range of administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean Academic Affairs & Global Engagement, Associate Dean, Outreach & Development, and Executive Director & CBO. Support includes: scheduling, procurement, reporting, database management, budget, travel authorizations, meeting arrangements, drafting presentations, project work and general office administrative functions as needed.College Work Study InternsManage the hiring, training and schedule for the CWS/information desk interns for support of the reception function and routine administrative matters. Assign CWS students to provide appropriate administrative support within CWS capabilities to the Dean's Office Leadership Team when requested.General Office Administrative SupportProvide general office administrative support to the Dean's Office, including: sorting and distributing mail, office supply orders, filing, etc.Special Projects and Event PlanningDesign, develop and execute special projects and be available to assist as needed with Dean's Office events.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;Proficient in the use of computers with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, electronic calendaring, and e-mail;Ability to organize and manage complex administrative processes;Ability to work with senior management personnel;Ability to work independently and to complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines;Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Ability to quickly gain proficiency in web-based database platforms and applications;Ability to work effectively as a key member of an administrative support team in a dynamic, fast-paced, demanding environment with frequently changing priorities;Ability to handle matters with discretion and maintain absolute confidentiality in a highly visible office;Demonstrated, effective interpersonal and organizational skills;Experience in providing administrative support in an academic environment;Proven ability to work effectively work in a dynamic environment and in support of a high-level management team; andExperience managing the calendar of high-level leaders in a dynamic environment.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of University programs, policies, and procedures;Ability and willingness to gain proficiency in software and web-based applications: University applications such as PCard, eVA and Chrome River, reporting formats, and School applications and files; andExperience in senior level administrative management and support in an academic environment.
