Building Automation Technician The George Mason University Facilities Department is seeking a qualified reliable candidate for our Building Automation Technician position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position: The Building Automation Technician will perform journeyman level work in the installation, modification, repair, and replacement of Mason's Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and equipment, using necessary safety equipment, hand tools, ladders, and testing equipment. This position will install, maintain, and monitor computer based DDC systems. The Building Automation Technician will inspect HVAC systems and controls to determine preventative maintenance schedules or finds needed for corrective maintenance repairs, and report findings to the Building Automation Supervisor.This position will work at our Fairfax campus. The working hours will be Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.Preferred Qualifications:A working knowledge of how building automation systems work, their purpose, and why they are used for energy management is a must; andHVAC or Electrical License is a plus.
