The college, with nearly 130 full-time faculty members, more than 300 part-time faculty members and nine academic divisions offers 27 academic programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, across its three schools, the School of Education, the School of Kinesiology and the School of Sport, Recreation, and Tourism Management. In addition, faculty engage in an extensive portfolio of research and are fully engaged in the community. The CEHD is ranked among the top 100 Colleges of Education in the world by the Shanghai ranking of world universities and is among the top tier in the rankings of the US News and World Report.Responsibilities:The College of Education and Human Development is seeking a creative and analytical professional with demonstrated effective communication skills. The incumbent must be willing to learn and adapt to new technology, be able to foster positive working relationships, be detail-oriented and self-motivated, and skilled at prioritizing tasks. Responsibilities include:Answer phones. Direct calls and visitors. Process and distribute mail;Respond to data requests to support development of programs. Assist in collecting, organizing and summarizing data. Identify, modify, and create reports in Excel and university software systems;Ensure continuous enhancement of office protocols on customer service. Develop forms and procedures as needed to accomplish duties. Define the actions, tasks and projects that need to be accomplished to effectively prioritize responsibilities. Utilize mature judgement to determine appropriate responses and make effective referrals to assist students, staff, faculty, and Mason visitors;Interface with prospective and current students to respond to general inquiries (email, phone and face-to-face), answer questions about the admissions process and admission status, schedule appointments, and make appropriate referrals to other campus offices;Collaborate with advisors to provide academic administrative support to the unit. Be knowledgeable about Division programs as well as college and university resources. Support academic advisors, Director and faculty in processing and filing student paperwork, student outreach, and student correspondence. Maintain Division social media outlets, and monitor websites and provide updates as needed;Collaborate with the Dean's office, faculty, and college staff and administrators, and contribute to efforts to support the academic success of students;Communicate general financial and tuition related information to students and agencies;Primary back-up for program accounts receivable;Follow-up with students for late or non-payment of tuition;Prepare refund documentation;Draft third party invoices and work collaboratively with Student Accounts, Third-Party Billing, Account Loan Management, Financial Aid, Military Office and Student Accounts;Review and prepare financial updates for contract course website and brochure; andAssist with general office purchasing, telecom and facilities requests and print services.Candidates must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities; be able to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines; be able to analyze and solve problems; be able to effectively prioritize tasks; and be able to work independently.The position hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00, Fairfax Campus. Potential for two days telework following training period. Required Qualifications:Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; andDemonstrated experience in a fiscal services position (generally 1+ years).Preferred Qualifications:Experience with higher education, student interaction, and state policies;Experience with Banner and PatriotWeb software; andExperience with MicroStrategy.
