Office ManagerThe George Mason University, Operations and Business Services Unit is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for an Office Manager position. The Office manager supports the OBS team and the services/programs which they provide. It is the duty of the Office Manager to provide the highest level of service and customer satisfaction while effectively managing the office and working with the office and student staff. The incumbent will provide exceptional support to the department's Vice President, as well as departmental Directors, Managers, and staff.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for the following but not limited to:Administrative support for the Vice President, Directors and staff within Operations and Business Services;Human resource functions;Financial functions such as vendor payment, p-card management, and reconciliation;Answering phones and email, to provide information to constituents;Arranging conference, meeting, or travel arrangements; andManage and supervise student wages office support staff.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience in office management;Demonstrated experience and success in office management (generally 2+ years);Demonstrated communication skills in writing and interpersonal relations;Commitment to service philosophy and ability to work in a diverse community;Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues;Solid PC/Office365 skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint; andExperience in calendar management.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in HR workflows, purchase order management, travel scheduling and approvals, work order submission and management;Experience managing and training student staff; andExperience initiating purchase orders and processing approvals for vendor payments.
