Executive Coordinator & Office ManagerThe George Mason University, Office of the Senior Vice President is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to fill the role of Executive Coordinator & Office Manager. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Department: The Office of the Senior Vice President provides direction, oversight, and financial and operation management for Mason fiscal services; purchasing and accounts payable; budget and planning; campus police; safety, emergency and enterprise risk management; auxiliary enterprises; transportation and parking services; human resources and payroll; facilities management, planning, financing and construction; and space management.About the Position:The purpose of this position is to manage the schedule, activities, and office for the Senior Vice President, ensuring daily support and operations for the Senior Vice President are conducted efficiently and professionally. This position helps the SVP manage information flow and requests, including email and sensitive correspondence. The position also coordinates the Finance and Land Use Committee activities for Board of Visitors' meetings, serving as secretary pro tem.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience;Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and projects with an appreciation for process; ability to be both detail-oriented while being mindful of the bigger-picture goals;Proactive problem solver with demonstrated ability to think critically, anticipate needs, and take initiative. Able to adjust immediately to new priorities and demands, and respond to rapidly changing initiatives;Exceptional computer and technical skills including MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and calendaring systems are required;Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain utmost confidentiality and act with discretion. Proven ability to work cooperatively with all levels of executives, faculty, staff, students, and the public; andExperience with scheduling, research, analysis, proofreading, critical writing, event planning, and office management.Preferred Qualifications:Notary preferred, for which training can be provided in the role;Master's Degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience;Experience in Higher Education and/or Finance;Experience working with an oversight body; andExperience in University software programs (eg, Banner) and academic affairs policies and procedures.
