Associate Director of International Graduate AdmissionsThe George Mason University, Office of Admissions is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented individual to fill the position of Associate Director of International Graduate Admissions. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Serve as lead, full-time specialist for post-secondary international credentials and higher education institutes for the Office of Admissions and graduate units at Mason;Stay up to date on evaluation standards and best practices in credential evaluation by attending conferences and training seminars;Train, supervise and evaluate staff which includes full-time, wage and non-wage employees in post-secondary credential evaluation;Establish and maintain centralized training program for staff and faculty across campus;Evaluate international credentials for graduate students and assist with undergraduate and faculty evaluations, as needed;Use best judgment in disseminating overflow to external evaluation agencies when needed;Review international institutions for accreditation and recognition in country of origin and provide advisory and administrative support for other campus departments;Create centralized admissions recruitment efforts for international students;Advise academic units on best practices;Serve as the lead for centralized international pathway programs to include INTO Mason, MOUs, special populations, and others;Develop and maintain relationships with external evaluation agencies, ensure they are accurately and thoroughly meeting expectations;Coordinate systematic approach to decreasing the need for external evaluations, if demonstrated can be done, over time; andPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Demonstrated written and oral communication skills;Demonstrated analytical skills;Ability to prioritize tasks in a hectic, deadline-driven environment often working on multiple tasks concurrently;Comfortable working with diverse populations;Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information and situations;Computer literate and willing to learn new software applications;Demonstrated ability to work positively as a team member;Previous admissions experience;Previous international admissions recruitment experience;Experience with international credential evaluation; andAvailable for evening and weekend work.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree; andBilingual.
