Administrative Assistant (Part-Time) The George Mason University, Department of English is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a part time administrative assistant position to help with general office tasks, communication and outreach, website maintenance, course and program promotions, etc. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Some duties will include:Posting to social media;Help with assembly of electronic course booklet;Designing and producing orientation materials;Creating event flyers;Maintaining electronic signage;Community engagement; (This is not an exhaustive list).Required Qualifications:Applicants must have the ability to communicate with program directors and others who can help inform/guide regular social media postings; use design software & various university software applications; and engage in community outreach.Preferred Qualifications:The following education and/or skill sets are preferred: Familiarity with posting to social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), experience using design software such as Canva, Indesign, etc., experience with public relations. The position is 20 hours per week, and the pay is $20/hr. Work hours will be somewhat flexible.
