As part of Boeing Research & Technology's (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability, our software engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for amazing aerospace and autonomy platforms. We develop and integrate cutting edge mission systems, high bandwidth communication systems, large-scale simulation systems, space and satellite systems, avionics virtual machines as part of high fidelity digital twins that will improve the future of software development, airplane and flight controls, cyber security solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and much more. This is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in ( Fairfax, VA & Huntsville, AL ) Position Responsibilities: Leads or supports activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Leads or supports development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Leads software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Trains and mentors others. Works under consultative direction. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's degree or higher 5+ years software engineer experience Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with the following programming languages, frameworks, and technologies: Java / Groovy and Spring framework Message-oriented middleware (Apache Camel), messaging brokers (RabbitMQ), and stream-processing (Apache Kafka) JavaScript and JS frameworks (NodeJS, ExpressJS, VueJS) WebSocket and RESTful API development XML / XSD and JSON data formats Build tools (Gradle, Docker) Linux operating systems This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
