ED Crisis Clinician (Night Shift) Our CareMind Health team is looking for a Full-Time Emergency Department Care Coordinator to work the Night Shift (5 pm-2 am) Mon - Fri. at United Medical Center in Washington, DC Our ED Crisis Clinicians are assigned to the emergency department to provide behavioral health assessments for patients with acute psychiatric issues, make an initial psychiatric diagnosis, and determine if the patient needs psychiatric hospitalization or can be discharged with outpatient resources.CareMind Health, a clinical captive entity of Mindoula, a next-generation, leading population health management company, provides psychiatry and related services to multiple community hospitals. We are transforming the practice of psychiatry by combining the systems-based and holistic framework of our clinical practice with our innovative approach to designing, implementing, and managing psychiatry services in various treatment settings for a range of populations requiring psychiatric care and other related services to multiple community hospitals.About Us:* A fast-growing national behavioral health-focused group* A market leader in inpatient psychiatry unit performance* Our innovative delivery model virtually provides psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other allied behavioral health professionals to help hospitals and other institutions deliver psychiatric care.* Excellent benefits and compensation package* Collaborative team environmentTasks & Responsibilities:* Verify insurance* Obtain a bed in the inpatient psychiatric unit at United Medical Center (UMC), facilitate transfers from the ED, or refer patients not appropriate for hospitalization* For ED psychiatric patients who need transfer to another facility for psychiatric hospitalization, the ED PCC will obtain a bed at the accepting facility and arrange transport by ambulance.* For ED psychiatric patients who can be discharged to a lower level of care, the ED CC will provide outpatient behavioral health resources at discharge.* Will document all ED psychiatric assessments in the hospital's EMR.* ED Crisis Clinicians are essential to meet quality standards of care and provide behavioral health intervention.* ED Crisis Clinicians are responsible for throughput for behavioral health patients in the ED, including evaluations, bed searches, and insurance authorizations.* ED Crisis Clinicians manage triage of patients and determination of the appropriate level of care, including but not limited to disposition recommendations and safe discharge planning.Education & Experience:* Masters Degree* LMSW, LCSW, LCPC* Active Washington, DC licenseBe a part of the solution and make a difference in our communities!CareMind Health, PC is a Washington, DC-based psychiatry practice composed of psychiatrists, psychiatric advanced practice providers, and psychotherapists providing in-person and virtual psychiatric care in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
