Description The Human Resources Manager will support our Union Bridge Maryland Cement Plant as well as our Cement Logistics and Sales teams. The position will report directly to the Human Resources Director.The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for leading HR initiatives for the plants by aligning human capital with the business strategy, the adoption of best practices, and the attraction, development, and retention of employees. The successful candidate must also work closely with the Cement Plant, Sales & Logistics management teams and the Region HR team to accomplish objectives in the areas of safety and health, benefits, compensation, employment relations, HR systems, internal communications, leadership development, payroll, recruiting, and training. Requirements What you'll get to do+ Provide sound HR counsel to the management teams.+ With an HR insight, helps determine the short-term and long-term business strategy.+ Leads and facilitates change management.+ Maintains transparent communication and quickly builds trust across all levels of the organization.+ Leads and develops potential department restructuring efforts.+ Ensures that adequate and effective training and development opportunities are provided that meet the business needs.+ Ensures that an effective performance management program is in place and utilized to drive a high performing culture.+ Works with management to ensure that an effective and sustainable manpower planning process is in place. Responsible for managing the staffing process for hourly employees.+ Effectively manages employee relations issues and advises on administration of the CBA.+ Ensures compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures, including implementation of Group and NAM guidelines and training.+ Leads continuous improvement efforts with the region's HR initiatives and programs.+ Ensures effective participation HR initiatives.Essential Experience and Skills+ Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; PHR, SPHR, CCP, or other related HR certification are an added plus.+ Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a human resources generalist role with increasing responsibility, or equivalent combination of education and experience.+ Strong background in two or more of the basic HR disciplines of employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, HRIS and / or training and development. Prior experience in a union environment is strongly preferred.+ Working knowledge of Federal and State labor and employment laws and regulations is required.+ Experience implementing strategic initiatives that align with business goals and budgets is required.+ Experience providing counsel to management is required.+ Experience using creativity and innovation in recommending improvements to HR practices and processes and encouraging this continuous improvement behavior in others.+ Experience using HRIS, Time and Attendance and other HR computer systems.+ Knowledge and understanding of the impact of change on people, processes, leadership and culture.+ Knowledge of change management principles, strategies and techniques required for effectively evaluating, planning, and implementing change in the organization.+ Prior experience in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred.+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills+ Strong attention to detail.+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and systems.+ Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Preferred Experience and Skills+ MSHA and OSHA knowledge and experience+ HR professional certification+ Kronos+ WorkdayWork Environment+ Role operates primarily in a manufacturing plant office environment, but requires time spent in the plant where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levelsWhat we have to offer+ Competitive base salary and participation in our annual incentive plan+ Highly competitive benefits programs+ 401k retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributionsRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
