Responsibilities: Peraton is seeking a Lead Program Director to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate we are seeking is an experienced and accomplished technical project manager to be part of a team supporting the operations and maintenance of a large scale and worldwide Enterprise IT environment covering application hosting and support; enterprise services; and infrastructure services in the Washington DC metro area. This candidate will manage a large portfolio of projects and a team of project managers. They will manage the work, artifacts, and technical decisions for projects in conjunction with Government customers. The Lead Project Manager will serve the needs of a diverse team of project managers and operational engineers to implement superior levels of project management, tracking, and control. Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Serve as the Deputy PMO Director and manage team of project managers for a large-scale, world-wide Enterprise IT environment for the Department of State (DoS)Collaborate with PMO Director and senior leaders on developing and implementing the strategy and objectives for the program's project management office and team; determine optimal organizational structure for the team, including workflow and functional assignments that promote maximum efficiencyOversee IT projects for the DoS in coordination with customer managersOversee the team's work with technical engineers to identify projects and tasks, analyze risks, and strategize issue remediationCoordinate efforts and implement internal management controls that ensure the best use of technical engineer resources to accomplish program goalsLead resource management and risk management across the enterprise, identifying and preventing resource constraints and analyzing the results of system changesAct as Delivery Manager or Scrum Master on Kanban teams, guiding technical resources through Scrum/Kanban practicesOversee the development of comprehensive, executive-level dashboards that provide essential project information, such as risks, issues, impediments, and projected completion dates and lead discussions of this information with senior customer managersLiaise with program stakeholders such as senior government executives, internal managers, external stakeholders, development teams, security officers, PMO, and HRWork with appropriate technical and management resources to plan and schedule project timelines and milestonesDevelop best practices, strategies, and tools for project support and manage process improvement activities in non-technical program areasDevelop and deliver executive level presentations to senior government executivesManage team to include supervision of staff, monitoring staff progress towards program goals and objectives, staff hiring and evaluations, tracking schedules and time, and coordinating with Peraton business operations as needed Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:US Citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security ClearanceBS degree with 16-18 years' experience, MS degree with 14+ years' experience or PhD degree with 10+ years' of experienceMinimum 5 years of experience working as a technical Project Manager, on Federal contracts a plusExperience working in project management for software development, database management, infrastructure, or network environment projectsExperience with project methodologies and associated tools (SDLC, Agile, Kanban, and Jira or IBM ELM suite)Solid experience with MS Office SuitesExperience with knowledge sharing tools such as SharePoint and ConfluencePMP and/or Agile certificates a plusExperience providing operational task support in a highly demanding environmentAbility to apply industry standards and best practices for operational excellence Peraton Overview: Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. For Colorado Residents: Colorado Salary Minimum: $116,900 Colorado Salary Maximum: $283,700 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
