All current and newly hired employees are required to follow onsite safety measures based upon the COVID-19 Community Level at the specific work location.Description:The Chief Engineer (CE) position within the Double Eagle II (DEII) East Coast (EC) Engineering Organization is the lead technical authority for Echelon One (E1) operations and maintenance of all RF/Hardware ground systems within DEII EC Engineering scope across multiple geographically-dispersed program nodes, reporting directly to the East Coast Site/Engineering Lead and responsible for:-Providing technical oversight of all EC Ground Engineering (GE) operations, ensuring process consistency within the GE sites, and leading the drive for increased efficiency across the GE enterprise . -Actively leading the establishment of multi-site enterprise operations in the GE scope, engaging with and taking assignment from the program Enterprise Engineering staff for cross-program efforts furthering enterprise maturity.-Identifying problem/concern areas and independently coordinating program resources (LM and teammate subcontractors) to recommend solutions for implementation within bounds of program cost and schedule constraints. Developing recommendations and solutions for both immediate and long-term GE needs based upon best overall cost/technical balanced solution.-Providing initial leadership of anomaly investigations of ground problems, including becoming certified as an on-call site war-room POC, and coordinating representation to corresponding efforts in other EC Engineering segments. Coordinating briefings for real-time "B- level" problems. Engaging directly with and providing concise, level-appropriate status and recommendations to program customers at all levels.-Running internal ERB's and GE risk management forums, and being the GE representative to program ERB. Acting as an EC Engineering focal point for E2/E3 factory interaction across multiple development and sustainment factories who provide GE systems that the program operates and maintains. -Ensuring GE readiness for routine system upgrades for multiple different HW/SW systems. Being primary program POC responsible for coordinating Ops readiness for transition of upcoming major program hardware recaps.- Preparing GE inputs for ROM's, ECP's and Requests for Change (RFC's), including performing internal and external interface coordination. - Mentoring and helping to develop more junior GE personnel.The CE primarily workd at a coordinating level across all program locations. They will routinely interact with GE managers to coordinate resource support for assigned tasks and initiatives. Candidate should have pre-existing RF domain knowledge must have ability/background to quickly learn HW systems not within current experience. Must possess flexibility to adapt to new and often changing operational requirements as well as new way of doing things in a cost constrained environment. Candidate will frequently receive short-turn-around ad hoc tasking directly from the Site Engineering Lead. Candidate will be required to travel periodicallysometimes on short notice. Must be available for after-hours call-in and be able to adapt to flexible work hours as mission support requirements dictate.Basic Qualifications:- Knowledge and experience of DEII hardware systems, particularly SRE-level experience on existing RF data and routing HW systems and/or subsystemsDesired Skills:- Proven ability to embrace and drive process improvement results. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
