Oracle Database Engineer Location: Hybrid - onsite 4x/week Germantown, MD & 1x/week remote Salary: 110-140Kish *Contract to Hire ALTA IT Services is looking for an Oracle Database Engineer to be working as part of a Software development team to analyze, design, develop, test, document, and deploy backend databases and associated software. Responsibilities: Design and deploy databases, working closely with system designers and developersAbility to understand software architecture and schema design with respect to databases and recommend approaches to the software development teamAnalyze and resolve database performance related issuesRecommend and implement mechanism to regularly upgrade and patch databases and replication softwareProvide production support to issues escalated to the engineering teamRecommend and deploy solutions to provide data protection and integrity Requirements: 8-10 years of experience with Oracle Database design and administrationBachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or related field4+ years experience with replication software, specifically Oracle Golden Gate8+ years' proficiency with working in Linux environments4+ years of experience using scripting languages (eg Shell, PL/SQL, Python) Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a related fieldExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills, both oral and writtenKnowledge of products like Oracle RAC and Enterprise ManagerExperience with Mongo and PostgresqlAbility to multi-task and work collaboratively within a team environment For immediate consideration, please apply directly or contact Sunita Mehta at Smehta@altaits.com or (301) 461- 3235.
