MILITARY VETERANS POSITION SUMMARY MELE Associates, Inc. is looking to add an experienced Nuclear Program Analyst/ Engineer to our National Security and Intelligence Division, supporting a key Department of Energy (DOE)/ National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) customer. The Nuclear Program Analyst / Engineer will directly support the Office of Experimental Sciences (OES), NA-113. The Nuclear Program Analyst / Engineer will provide technical support to the Federal Program Manager (FPM), as well as serve as a liaison with other Defense Programs (DP), NNSA, and Department of Defense (DOD) organizations associated with the Office of Experimental Sciences. This full-time position is available immediately to the selected candidate and is offered on a remote telework agreement. However, the selected candidate may be required to report on-site periodically as requested by the client, and should be within commuting distance to an NNSA facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : The Nuclear Program Analyst/ Engineer will provide expertise to the Department of Energy/ National Nuclear Security Administration Office of Experimental Sciences and offer subject matter expert (SME) recommendations and analyses on nuclear related projects. The selected candidate should have a strong foundational knowledgeof NNSA R&D experimentation contributing to Science Based Stockpile Stewardship. Additional duties may include: Explore material behavior in environments of extreme conditions of pressure, temperature, and strain rates. Conduct research needed to improve stockpile stewardship science predictive capability, revise the common framework models, and uncertainty quantification. Investigate radiation transport and complex hydrodynamics. Aid in the development of dynamic experimental diagnostics and advanced experimental platforms. Conduct Program Reviews and provide reports to leadership as requested. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements/Skills Required: An active DOD Top Secret or DOE Q security clearance. Five to seven (5-7) years experience working with NNSA science and nuclear related projects. Masters Degree from an accredited university or college in an advanced scientific discipline, ie: nuclear, HE, materials, physics, etc. Must have experience with NNSA science and nuclear related projects in at least one of the following areas: Experience with the NNSA complex, experimental facilities, science-based stockpile stewardship. Experience with Materialin Extreme Conditions (MEC) research. Experience with Light Source experimental research such as (APS at Argonne National Labs, National Synchrotron at Brookhaven, and LCLS at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory). Experience with Advance Diagnostics. Must have extensive experience working in current standard computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Must have experience performing work in a virtual / telework environment. Must be able to communicate complex scientific reports and develop these reports from data analysis to others who may be not technical both via presentation and in written reports. Preferred Requirements/Skills: PhD Degree in Business or a technical related field. Ten plus (10+) years experience working with NNSA science and nuclear related projects. Direct experience with the Office of Experimental Sciences (OES). Position is primary remote. Candidate must be located never a NNSA facility and able to be on-site as requested by client.
