Description:Our client is looking for a Desktop Technician to work onsite 100% in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a long term contract. This person will assist with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktops, laptops, peripheral equipment and software complying with given standards and guidelines for primary local site. Update and maintain computer inventory and surplus equipment. Maintain and resolve issues on LAN/WAN, VoIP telephony, video systems, mobile devices, and other computing equipment. Engage with other IT resources to resolve technical problems with end user computing equipment and software. Train and guide staff hardware and software usage. Participate in important technological department projects and perform problem diagnosis of network and desktop environment under IT Management direction.* Provide daily end user support for laptops, desktops, and printers.* Provide support for Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365, and other standard desktop applications.* Resolve support tickets within advertised Service Level Agreements.* Complete tasks associated with onboarding and offboarding users including deploying equipment, collecting equipment, and providing training.* Install local applications as requested.* Manage local hardware inventories of computers and peripherals. Request additional equipment as necessary.* Provide support to video conference meetings and webcasts.* Participate on projects related to the delivery of end user services.* Assist Infrastructure team as necessary to support local site.* Must collaborate with all team members and staff to ensure effective problem resolution, attend meetings as required, stay current on technological advances, and perform other duties of a similar nature or levelAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Personality matters as mush as IT in this role. The technical pieces can be taught, but the person is going to have to interface with C level employees and executives to troubleshoot in-front of conferences.
