Position Summary

 

The Site Coordinator assists the Program Manager in the day to day operations and administration of the Sherwood Hypothermia Shelter by coordinating and monitoring residential coverage and adherence to policies and procedures of operating a Hypothermia Shelter.

 

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise Program Associates and assist in the hiring and supervision Assist with training, staff development and on-going performance reviews for all staff Build and maintain quality working relationships with colleagues, external and internal stakeholders Develop a positive rapport with each resident through routine contact and communication Assist in the implementation [YB1] of data points/outputs by working with the Program Manager and the Evaluation and Data team Assist in the coordination and scheduling of onsite SPDATs and other needed assessments Report serious incidents, allegations, and sensitive program information to the Program Manager immediately Complete incident reports as needed per NSV, DHS and TCP policies Work with case management teams to ensure all required service delivery is documented and to identify strengths and weaknesses in data entry and quality Respond to immediate client needs, help de-escalate crisis situations, help resolve conflicts and enforce program rules Assist the Program Manager in strategizing program operations Participate in program team meetings, staff meetings, supervision meetings as required and requested per contracts Participate in program quality improvement activities that improve program policies, procedures, and client and program outcomes Adhere to agency policies and procedures Coordinate and manage program operations in collaboration with the Program Manager Assist the Program Manager in completing the staff schedule Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of direct social services experience, or HS Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of direct social services experience, or HS Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of work experience

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and the related issues of addiction and mental illness strongly preferred Familiarity with DC’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Knowledge of issues facing homeless or otherwise vulnerable populations Values commensurate with a community committed to providing inclusive services without regard to race, religion, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity Experience with, or capacity to learn, data visualization techniques and software

 

 

Skills and Competencies Desired

 

  • Strong cultural competence, including excellent interactions and communication ability with a diverse population Mature abilities in developing interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn a database system Ability to work independently Possess crisis management skills Excellent written and verbal communication Detail oriented and analytical thinker

 

 

This is a seasonal position for hypothermia season lasting from November 2022 - April 2023.
