Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

Area of consideration example : For DO-II: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience examples:
- Assessing, developing and motivating learners, engaging a variety of learning techniques
- Content management focusing on increasing learner's knowledge, improving skills and performance
- Managing multiple responsibilities; administrative, detail-oriented; learning, logistics, time and resource management
- Capabilities developing learner core competencies and interpersonal skills; career paths and roadmaps
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining learning and leadership program delivery systems, training administration, participant application processes, and evaluation activities
- Modifying and delivering training courses (i.e., equal opportunities, crucial conversations, conflict management, soft skills - [interpersonal, emotional intelligence and teamwork skills] etc.), conducting needs assessments and task analyses; critical thinking skills
- Preparing plans and training materials based on course content and/or subject matter content
- Managing oversight and directions for employee workforce development and training programs
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the DO-II (GS-12 equivalent) or DO-II (GS-13 equivalent) position in the federal service.

- Willingness, knowledge, skills, and capabilities related work experience in adult learning, program and project management
- Experience in instructional design, organizational development and/or course evaluation. Software applications capabilities, improvement and accessibility for e-learning

- Serves as a workforce advancement learning and development advisor, training JWAC employees
- Prepares, executes and monitors programs; modernizes, develops, measures and evaluates plans, course methods, materials, and maintains training records
- Administers assigned training and workforce development processes to advance and revitalize the skills of the workforce
- Coordinates with a variety of training sources, government, non-government, colleges/universities, acquisition, and distance learning vendors to develop, analyze, and bring in non-technical and technical training courses
- Manages all aspects of education and training processes including administrative policies and procedures
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of organization structure and training missions

- Incumbent must have or be capable of obtaining and retaining a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing program. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- Position is subject to polygraph testing
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
