Duties

  • The Executive Officer executes the ES Commandant?s managerial, calendar, engagement, logistical, travel, and protocol requirements, while managing front-office and staff personnel and performing daily administrative duties in support of the college.
  • Tracks taskers, staff actions and suspense dates, conducts research for developing/preparing oral presentations or written material and?prepares reports, summaries, and detailed spreadsheet evaluations for measuring effectiveness of programs.
  • Reviews/prepares correspondence to include procedural, instructional, and operational guidance and provides support services across the college?s entire spectrum of personnel, security, logistics, communications, financial, and manpower management.
  • Serves as project officer for planning, coordinating, and executing events, supports engagements with senior-level stakeholders, supports onboarding and off-boarding of personnel, and manages knowledge management tools and social media platforms.
  • Serves as Authorizing Official in the Defense Travel System (DTS) for travel authorizations for student, faculty, and staff travel and serves as a Trust Agent Sponsorship System to enable student, faculty, and staff to receive a Common Access Card.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as:
  • providing advice, recommendations, and assistance for a full range of duties in support of an overall mission including administrative management, business management, and project management;
  • experience in preparing meeting, presentation, and project content for senior leadership and communicating messages on behalf of senior leadership;
  • ability to interpret and apply policies involving sensitive or unusual situations; and
  • demonstrated experience adjusting goals, priorities, and deadlines to meet substantial changes in methods, procedures, and workloads.
  • Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
