Responsible for planning, developing, and administering position classification and pay administration programs for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Provides expert technical guidance in all program areas to key management officials of the Federal Prison System, as well as, Human Resource Managers at regional and institutional levels. Develops policy issuances for the Bureau, which directly affect position management, classification, pay and payroll and personnel processing. Experience GS-13 and GS-14 You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: GS-13 Experience that demonstrates the ability to oversee a department of staff responsible for planning, developing, and administering position classification and pay administration programs. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of position management within an automated system such as National Finance Center. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures from the Office of Personnel Management which directly impacts position classification and compensation administration. GS-14 Experience that demonstrates an expert knowledge in position classification and compensation administration concepts, principles and practices to establish agency specific protocols. Experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate to staff at all levels within an agency/organization in the areas of federal position classification standards and pay regulations. Experience in resolving issues and/or upholding agency specific decisions in the areas of classification, position management or pay administration.
