Responsibilities Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other court documentsDrafting and preparing discovery and responses to discovery demands, including subpoenas and depositionsDrafting and preparing written correspondenceEnsuring the client file and discovery documents are properly indexed and organizedActing as the primary point of contact for client matters; regularly meeting and communicating with clientsManaging the case calendar - dates, deadlines, state of case, identifying what is due and whenAssisting lawyers in trial preparation by organizing and marking exhibits, coordinating witnesses, preparing direct examination questions and case summary sheets, and assembling trial bindersAssisting lawyers in preparation for depositionsCommunicating with court personnel, opposing counsel and staff, and third partiesCompleting legal formsConducting legal researchQualifications Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred 3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting Strong oral and written communication skills Strong preference for candidates who have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies. Bachelor's degree is a plus.Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education.Talented communicator and writer.Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills.Strong preference for candidates with 3+ years of family law experience under an attorney in a law firm setting.Compensation $70,000 - $95,000 yearly About Blattner Family Law GroupOur firm helps people in contentious divorces maximize their finances and time with their children.
