Join us, and together we can work to ensure a better tomorrow.FMG is seeking an experienced, intelligent, and motivated Senior Researcher to join our Public Service Recruitment Research department to lead and manage a range of research projects in support of the US Army Marketing and Advertising Program. Selected individuals will work in a senior research role providing research expertise and overseeing multiple research studies using various methodologies (eg, focus groups, surveys, secondary data review, and analysis) and audiences (eg, potential Army recruits and their influencers) to inform marketing and communication. Individuals will function as technical leads and project managers responsible for leading and managing a research team. Specific duties include delegating and distributing work across a team, budget management, quality control, review and approval of deliverables, managing client relationships and assisting senior leadership in determining the overall approach to a project. Individuals should be equally comfortable with delegation and doing. Individuals will also be responsible for coaching and fostering growth and development of researchers with a range of experience.Successful individuals in this role will thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven and highly collaborative environment. Additionally, comfort with ambiguous and evolving nature of projects is a central component of this role.Responsibilities include: Contribute to the planning, coordination, design, execution, and interpretation of social-psychological, social persuasion and/or behavior change studies across a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Oversee and guide preparation of research reports, presentation decks, and other external communications summarizing research methods, findings, and strategic implications for marketing strategies and advertising messaging. Oversee and guide the conduct of univariate and multivariate analyses; analyze and interpret results from descriptive and inferential quantitative analyses and translate into actionable insights. Oversee and guide the conduct of interviews, focus groups, and other methods to collect qualifying data. Oversee and guide the analysis and interpretation of results from qualitative research studies (eg, thematic analysis, NVIVO). Interact with project team, including the FMG Research Director, FMG Research Advisors, Senior leadership and advertising agency/client teams on a day-to-day basis working under tight deadlines to fulfill requests. Lead and direct client and partner engagement, project meetings, and presentations. Oversee and guide preparation of written proposals for research in response to RFPs. Lead, coach, and mentor junior- to mid-level researchers.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communication, social science, or related field. 4-6 years of professional research experience required with at least two years of experience in a senior project role, preferably in a consulting organization. Communications-related research and/or experience working with advertising agencies or marketing firms preferred; military-related research a plus. Experience balancing multiple concurrent projects including management of project timelines, budget and scope in fast-paced environments working on tight deadlines. Experience successfully managing project budget and resources is required; doing so in time and materials contracts preferred. High degree of team orientation, as well as ability to work independently under minimal supervision to effectively balance and manage personal workload. Demonstrated experience managing complex client and/or stakeholder relationships and maintaining high satisfaction. Demonstration of strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to produce high-quality, accurate deliverables and presentations. Quantitative proficiency and experience working with data in Microsoft Excel(R) and at least one statistical analysis software package (eg, SPSS, STATA, SAS, R). Experience writing code/syntax preferred. Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with advertising agencies, marketing firms, or consulting organizations. Military-related research, marketing, or communication experience preferred. Knowledge of marketing metrics, marketing principles, and terminology. Experience with data analytics, market mix modeling (MMM), or audience segmentation a plus. Experience with qualitative software (eg, NVIVO) preferred.
