Senior Paralegal, Legal Affairs Responsibilities:Assist in the drafting, negotiation, and preparation of wide variety of production agreements (eg, production services agreements, independent contractor agreements, talent agreements, amendments, termination agreements) and agreements related to marketing and communications department endeavors.First line of legal review for basic production agreements (on-camera appearance releases, location releases, material licenses and equipment rental).Correspond with internal and external stakeholders to progress multiple matters under tight deadlines.May act as a point of contact for colleagues and any Disney entity or affiliate.May be expected to contribute/participate in department-oriented initiatives beyond assigned duties.Conduct copyright research in support of Disney's Copyright Department and copyright ownership of NG Studios productions.Respond to legal inquiries from internal clients; raise and escalate legal issues as necessary.Prepare legal correspondence at direction of attorneys.Cross train with other non-attorney staff in support of trademark maintenance and drafting agreements for Travel, Online and social media presence, and book and magazine publishing.Basic Qualifications: A minimum of 7+ years' experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or legal analyst maintaining legal records in a company, law firm or government agency.2+ years of direct entertainment/media business, contracts, or production experience, at a law firm, network, studio, production company, or event management firm; experience with scripted and unscripted programming, a plus.Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institutionParalegal certificate required or other credential evidencing satisfactory completion of paralegal studies program.Familiarity with one or more of the following substantive areas of law is a plus: events contracts; intellectual property; media and entertainment; marketing and communications; advertising or talent agency.Preferred QualificationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, which will enable the candidate to foster relationships with people at various levels (including attorneys, networks executives, content creators, producers, and in-house client divisions) in a fast-paced business environment.Excellent attention to detail; must be skilled in reading, proofing and interpreting contracts.Understand the material implications of agreements and demonstrate the ability to explain these implications.Must be willing to take "ownership" of projects and think proactively.Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise solutions and strategies with minimal supervision.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize numerous assignments with a service-oriented attitude coupled with a team approach.Strong desire to learn the business and function integrally as part of an interdisciplinary team with an uncompromising focus on both minimizing legal risk while driving business growth and delivering a high level of customer service.Positive demeanor, with a willingness to tackle matters outside of areas of expertise.Self-starter with ability to multi-task, excellent work ethic and commitment to managing assignments with professionalism and integrity.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat skills, experience with SalesForce and contract management systems a plus.Fluent in English.Required EducationBachelor's Degree preferredABA-approved Paralegal Certification or equivalent experience#legalaffairs, #CORP_MEDIA#LI-PD1
