The Navy NCIS program is searching for a System Administrator to join their team in Quantico, VA.The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of over 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the Department of Navy (DON) component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.NCIS provides the DON with threat status and warnings associated with terrorist, criminal, cyber, and counterintelligence activity throughout the world. NCIS is the only DON organization that has the information and responsibility to fuse and analyze the national intelligence and law enforcement information necessary to provide these warnings. The Digital Business Directorate (DBD) supports the NCIS core mission areas to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats by planning for and providing services through appropriate use of the people, equipment, technology, and infrastructure resources of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.Responsibilities:This position is part of the IT Technology Operations division within the NCIS ITD organization and performs the following functions: Administer, manage, and maintain Windows servers 2016 and 2019Responsible for Windows Server patching in an operational environmentExperience with one or more of the following: Domain controllers, Active Directory, DNS servers, DHCP and Group Policy ObjectCreate, manage, and maintain accounts and groups in Active Directory, LDAPExperience with PowerShell scriptingMonitors system environments and resourcesAnalyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and documents problems with business applications and hardware on all enclaves Oversees system recovery mechanisms Exhibit the capability to resolve issues independently Coordinate, communicate, escalate required changes, and major issues Help diagnose and resolve computer-related problems as requested by employees and contractors, either in person or by using remote control softwareRespond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support Accurately documents all work in ServiceNowQualifications BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degreeWell-rounded general computer system, network administration, and user support experience is necessary Experience in mobile device management support and solutionsExperience with the NGEN IT infrastructure and enterprise class networksAbility to administer user accounts and device associations in Active DirectoryExperience deploying DISA STIGs controls and system complianceMust have prior experience with installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple types of business and end user-specific application software in a large government installation Experience with one or more of the following: Domain controllers, Active Directory, DNS servers, DHCP and Group Policy ObjectRequires current DoD 8570 - IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security)Active Top Secret clearance is required to start, must be eligible to obtain SCI-level adjudication Scheduled Weekly Hours:40Travel Required:NoneTelecommuting Options:HybridWork Location:USA VA QuanticoAdditional Work Locations:COVID-19 Vaccination: GDIT does not have a vaccination mandate applicable to all employees.
