ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Technical Editor to provide documentation support for our NASA Goddard Space Flight Center customer. The position will be primarily remote with some travel to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and other NASA locations as needed. The selected candidate will be an integral part of a world class team that ensures NASA space-ground communications and associated services are reliable and meet mission requirements.As prime contractor on the NASA Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution contract (SENSE) contract you will be a part of a dynamic team responsible for systems engineering, design, development, integration, test, and maintenance of a platform which will enable any mission to be supported by any service provider. The team is also responsible for the delivery of capabilities into Operations. The platform will enable NASA to provide communications and navigation services in the Near Space Region to NASA missions and other customers.This work includes activities associated with the development of NASA communications ground systems in support of new human spaceflight programs and initiatives and NASA science missions. In this position, you will perform editing and formatting of technical documentation, various reports, and briefing packages, and includes printing reports and briefings for publication and distribution. This position will also be responsible for the following: Editing and maintenance of documentation for system and subsystem functional and performance requirements, interface specifications, system design, operations procedures, maintenance documentation, and process documentation. Writing technical documents such as procedure manuals, service manuals, and related technical publications concerned with installation, operation, and maintenance of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment. Editing and formatting technical and program documentation in either Word or Power Point. Working with authors to provide changes and or recommendations to materials. Performing quality reviews of documentation to ensure the correct grammar and punctuation is used. Integrating multiple inputs into a document or presentation in the development of the final customer deliverable product. QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or other relevant field, with 5+ years of experience. 5+ years' experience using Microsoft Word and Power Point, to include the use of styles and tables of contents. Experience working in an environment where documentation baselines are configuration controlled. Experience performing quality reviews of documentation to ensure that correct grammar, punctuation, and syntax is used. Experience editing technical documentation such as requirements documents, operations procedures, procedure manuals, and process documents using a standardized document template. Prior experience integrating, editing, formatting, and performing a quality review of customer documentation and status report deliverables. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship. Desired Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint. Prior experience preparing NASA documentation or relevant aerospace industry experience. Able to work in a team environment.
