UMMS is currently seeking a Project Manager, Human Resources at our corporate office in Linthicum, MD.General SummaryThe Project Manager, Human Resources will develop and implement projects and initiatives that have system-wide, Human Resources strategic priority. This position will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and work closely with Human Resources leadership and multidisciplinary partners to ensure the effective coordination of system-wide Human Resources projects. This role will Identify HR improvement opportunities, create and maintain focus, enthusiasm, and momentum for projects that improve the success of Human Resources strategies across the System. Principal Responsibilities and TasksThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this position. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed. Provides project support for the Chief Human Resources Officer and Human Resources Senior Leadership Team. Collaborates with Human Resources team members, and other multidisciplinary partners to establish and coordinate system-wide Human Resources initiatives and projects. Schedules and facilitate project team meetings and create agendas, to ensure that all tasks and requirements are effectively communicated to team members. Sends meeting minutes with outlined responsibilities for meeting follow up to team members. Manages concurrent projects while maintaining consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Brings structure to ambiguous problems and builds collaborative relationships across a variety of stakeholders. Provides oversight and project management guidance. Organizes and manages project teams, developing project plans, schedules and scope. Develops operational project plans, manage plans on a day-to-day basis, and effectively communicates project expectations and timelines to stakeholders. Defines project objectives, and manages detailed budget and deliverables using appropriate project management tools, maintain resource schedules and timelines, identifies issues and risks, and develops risk mitigation plans. Ensures deliverables are on time, within specifications and on budget. Regularly communicates issues and updates related to all initiatives to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Provides status reporting to project teams and leadership to show the overall health of the project, issues of concern, and expense forecasting and tracking Ensures all projects are consistent with strategic objectives, sufficiently resourced to achieve objectives, and are within the capacity of the department/team. Ensures adequate project teams staffing. Evaluates the implementation of projects and provides immediate and effective change as indicated. Ensures t project objectives are met by monitoring and measuring progress to identify variances and take corrective action as necessary. Effectively communicates project expectations to leaders, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear, concise, and consistent manner. Effectively engages with stakeholders and involves appropriate departments across the system as needed to fulfill data/reporting requests to ensure analytics are meaningful and sound. Manages closeout of projects, creates training and procedures as needed. What You Need to Be Successful: Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required. PMP certification. Three (3) - Five (5) years of related work experience in project management, management consulting, process improvement, or similar positions is required. Two (2) years of work experience in a healthcare related field is required. Experience in Human Resources strategies, initiatives and tactics. Experience in communication with internal/external customers, physicians, and senior executives is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Solid understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, prioritize, perform resource allocations, run team meetings and drive accountability. Demonstrated proficiency with project management software/programs and tools. Ability to develop metrics, collect data, and analyze data to identify root causes and measure performance. Ability to translate findings into an understandable, compelling message. Enthusiasm and creativity necessary to organize initiatives and ensure superior outcomes. Skilled in engaging others in improvement efforts. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. Strong interpersonal, influencing, facilitation, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate regularly, orally and in writing, with various departments, staff, physicians, and senior management. Excellent organizational, problem-solving and team leadership skills are required to develop and implement efficient work processes. Ability to work in a stressful environment.
