Project Engineer 3 ID 8097 Location Beltsville, MD Apply Now (https://phg.tbe.taleo.net/phg04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=MCDEAN=62=8097) Provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems. Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough and practical. Responsible for: Planning and maintaining project budget and schedule. Planning and maintaining Manpower forecasts in relation to budget and schedule. Planning and monitoring cash flow against cash expenses. Establishing labor and productivity rates. Identifying value added solutions and cost saving methods. Pricing, tracking and managing change orders. Identifying change orders and ensuring effective resolution. Maintaining as-builts as work is completed. Documenting project issues/conditions. Maintaining organized and detailed project records. Submitting hours and cost codes. Planning and executing project completion and punch list. Preparing specifications for purchase of materials and equipment. Preparing invoices. Submitting O manuals. Completing a comprehensive estimate. Running a KPR (Key Project Review). Developing a Safety Plan. Running day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project. Managing design development logs and criteria compliance matrix. Managing coordination & detailing logs & schedule. Managing schedule updates. Managing productivity reports. Identifying value added solutions & cost savings methods. Being a major participant in Project Kick Off Meeting (PKOM) process. Assisting in Field Inspections / productivity tracking. Gaining knowledge and assisting with the Materials Requisition System. Education 5-7 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably from an ABET accredited program) 3-5 years of experience with a MS/MS Professional Engineer License, preferred Physical Requirements Must be able to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time Must be able to view a computer screen for extended periods of time Possessing good vision (may be corrected vision) Ability to communicate Must have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard, including significant fine finger dexterity Maintaining effective audio-visual abilities and perception needed for: making observations, reading and writing, communicating with others, operating assigned equipment according to safety standards Focusing on complex tasks for extended periods of time Walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time Pushing, pulling or lifting equipment or supplies routinely encountered in an office environment At times, required to access work areas that are accessible only by OSHA approved site construction ladders or stairs that are under construction Must wear an MC Dean hard hat and safety glasses at all times while on the job site Abilities Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
