The HR Assistant provides day-to-day support for AAPAs recruitment efforts, HRIS administration, benefits administration, and employee engagement events.The ideal candidate will share the current HR teams commitment to building a culture of respect and transparency. The position requires the ability to support multiple priorities and projects with professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required, as well as the ability to take initiative to achieve desired results. RESPONSIBILITIESTalent Acquisition and Onboarding Administrative SupportPosts and advertises positions, screens resumes, conducts phone screens, and schedules interviewsConducts reference calls and processes background checksProvides a seamless hiring and onboarding experience to applicants and new employees through the full cycle-recruitment process and the first two weeks of hireCommunicates clearly across departments to establish new employees within the organization; schedules cross-departmental orientation meetings, coordinates with the Operations, Finance and Technology teams, updates internal documentation owned by Human Resources.General Department SupportOwns the general Human Resources inbox, responds and elevates inquiries to the appropriate team member as neededMaintains accuracy and integrity of internal documentation, files, and reportsAssists with planning of staff events and programsSupports the Human Resources team and initiatives as needed Benefits, Payroll and HRIS AdministrationActs as employee-facing system administrator to reset passwords, correct timesheets, and troubleshoot as neededProvides staff support for AAPAs cloud-based HRIS (Paycom): ensures accuracy of all employee information, including demographics, and benefit deductions, processes personnel transactions, including hires, separations and raisesSupports HRs integral working relationship with Payroll and Finance by following up on interdepartmental requests, fostering strong communication, and providing timely updatesManages documentation as necessary for benefits administration and auditsABOUT THE HUMAN RESOURCES TEAMThe human resources team is comprised of three team members; the vice president, the HR manager, and the HR assistant. The team conducts themselves with the highest level of personal and professional integrity, strives to consistently improve the employee experience throughout the employee life-cycle, and considers it a priority to build trust with staff members. This is a collaborative, hands-on team that doesn't hesitate to roll up their sleeves and jump in to fill gaps as needed.
