Systems Planning Corporation (SPC), a subsidiary company of GAI Consultants, Inc., is seeking an Environmental Technician to fill seasonal positions supporting wetland and other environmental field reviews and permitting. This position can report to either our Homestead, PA, or Bridgeport, WV office. The work location will be various states in the Eastern United States. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting with wetland delineations and plant identifications.This position is in anticipation of more growth and is an evergreen position. As such, the timeline to hire is unknown and will be as needed. If you are interested in this type of work we encourage you to apply and we will reach out when we are ready to move forward. It could be several months.Job Duties:Assist with wetland delineations, wetland determinations, rare species field reviews, and other environmental field studies for projects.Assist with environmental reviews for projects in the planning and development phases, focusing on wetland and waterway permitting, soil erosion and sediment control permitting, and endangered resource reviews.Data collection using handheld GPS.Assist with associated environmental reporting.Weekly travel will be required for this position and is expected to be 90% of the time (typically 200 miles or less), with fieldwork in rough terrain, exposed to weather and outdoor hazards.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
