We pride ourselves on the impact we have on the early childhood field through supporting teachers who are doing the most important work there is, teaching children to become creative, confident thinkers.Position OverviewThe Business Development Manager - Major Accounts, Private Child Care, & Military is an energetic hunter responsible for growing our footprint in major private child care accounts and Military markets. This is one of the most strategically important sales positions at Teaching Strategies and the individual will have routine interactions with senior leaders across the company.The individual will demonstrate hustle and strategic selling in uncovering and going after new partnership opportunities selling Teaching Strategies' full line of solutions to the major private childcare accounts in the US and internationally as well as to the Military in support of defined revenue goals. This role will build upon an existing foundation of established success in the marketplace and increase market share by using a collaborative, consultative approach with customers. Specific Roles & Responsibilities:Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline for new businessProactively develop strategic deals by leveraging personal and professional networksOwn the business development 'funnel' including inbound, outbound, and long-tail opportunity management. You will qualify leads and take the next steps with the appropriate teamsProvide internal teams with insight into the client's strategic business initiatives to ensure our work is consistent with the client's goalsLook for opportunities to grow existing accounts and provide value Develop territory plan designed to build diversified and meaningful pipeline and to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals Achieves monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals for the assigned territoryBuilds, maintains, and develops knowledge to become an expert on Teaching Strategies' solutions as well as the competitive landscape for early childhood developmentResponsible for the full cycle of the sales process; balances time effectively with the right mix of prospecting, planning, presenting, negotiating and closingAccurately manages sales pipeline in Salesforce.com and SalesLoft while creating sales opportunities that accurately reflect product, $ amount and estimated close datesUtilizes Salesforce.com and SalesLoft to track all sales activity and customer/prospect correspondence for given territoryProvides monthly forecast and sales projections to Sales leadershipMaintains existing relationships with customers and channels customer feedback appropriatelyHosts online presentations and demonstrations as well as face-to-face meetingsCommunicates on a regular scheduled basis with all major private childcare clients; provides timely follow up to all phone and email communications regarding potential sales opportunitiesRepresents Teaching Strategies at exhibits, conferences, events in the marketIncreases market leadership capacity and ensures the development of long term customer partnershipsWorks across departments to establish shared goals and cross-functional initiatives in support of sales and company prioritiesQualifications:5 years of education sales experience with a track record of success selling digital, print, assessment, and professional development education solutionsMastery of successful selling skills and techniquesExperience performing market analysis and building/managing a diverse and balanced sales pipelineKnowledge of educational structures and ability to sell to multiple decision makers at multiple levelsExperience with Salesforce or another CRM solution is highly desiredUnderstanding of the variety of funding sources customers can use to purchase product, staff development and assessment Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at the executive level Ability to travel up to 60% with seasonal variations Prior experience in the education field (eg classroom teacher, center director) is a plusPrior experience selling into Private Child Care is a plusWhy Teaching StrategiesAt Teaching Strategies, our solutions and services are only as strong as the teams that create them.
