Creates communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products including graphics, brochures, company or product fact sheets, logos, or other promotional products. Researches and develops content for publication of products in various media and markets. Prepares presentations and/or speeches. Provides input into the creation of marketing communications program budgets and plans. Develops marketing communications programs designed to support organizational strategies. Analyzes and reports on the effectiveness of marketing communications investments and recommends changes in strategy or mix to improve effectiveness. Works with outside vendors, marketing and sales teams to develop strategy. Collaborates with other departments and outside vendors in the content and design of the website.Key Responsilbilities: Develop, coordinate, and implement communications strategies and campaignsDevelop and maintain branding and style guideDevelop, write, and edit communication materials, including blog posts, news articles, interviews, and social media contentEnsure publication deadlines are met for all communication materialsTrack analytics and create reports to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaignsSeek opportunities and recommend techniques to enhance the reputation of the organization's public-facing imageServe as primary internal and external POC for the organizationEngage with external partners to achieve brand placement in communications across the organizationRequired Qualifications:TS/SCI w/ poly12-15 years with BS/BA or 10-13 years with MS/MA or 10years with PhD. Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fieldExperience in a communications, marketing, or social media management roleMust possess exceptional writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate contentUnderstanding of current communications, public relations, and marketing best practices, to include use of social mediaAbility to translate technical information into accessible and engaging contentAbiliity to think strategically and identify ways to improve communications effortsMust be resourceful and take initiative even when given minimal directionSuperior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneouslyDesired Qualifications:Experience conducting interviews and editing interview material into compelling and engaging written, audio, or video contentKnowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignKnowledge of HTML and various markdown languagesExperience developing and implementing successful social media strategiesAbility to improve the communication acumen of personnel within the organization via constructive feedback, mentorship, and trainingBasic photography skillsBasic audio recording and editing skills
