Senior Accounting Manager II. Gaithersburg, MD. Direct Hire Salary: $120-150K 3x week in office/2x remote This position supports matters related to technical accounting and the application thereof, process and control improvements, ownership, and oversight, as well as supports the SEC reporting process. Responsibilities: Lead the accounting function for our segment supporting the North American business groups, including revenue, inventory and project cost management and all other aspects related to the general ledgerManage the overall month end close and operational processes in connection with related party transactions and support to the business segments and divisionsWork closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate monthly close and reportingHighlighting sensitivities & risks and delivering timely, accurate and granular reporting and robust commentaryReview the monthly and quarterly results with senior financial managementMaintain financial records and ensure compliancy with company policies and US GAAPAssist with technical accounting research and application of GAAP relevant to various transactionsSupport the preparation and review of the supporting financial schedules needed as part of SEC documents relating to area of responsibilityMaintain, monitor and ensure corporate and department compliance with internal controls, policies and proceduresWork in close coordination with SOX and IA to ensure and effective framework of internal controls in financial reporting in area of responsibilityCoordinate work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records as well as the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from audit findingsProactively partnering with Finance to ensure accounting excellence through efficiencies along with simplification and standardizationSupervise direct reports in relation to staffing involvement, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.Help support and drive process excellence via digital transformational projectsEnable digital maturity by actively participating and leading projects on transforming processes into digital way of workingIdentify opportunities for and drive organizational initiatives to support process improvements and cost reductionsManage relationships and escalated issues, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, quality, schedules and costs; ensures that organization is effectively leveraging resources. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in AccountingActive CPA8-10 years progressive accounting experiencePrior management experience in Accounting and FinancePossess a concrete understanding of US GAAP and IFRS - including but not limited to:Revenue recognition and multiple element arrangements products, services, long-term contracts and lease arrangementsConsolidation, allocation processes and foreign exchangeIntercompany transactions and eliminationsInventory and project cost management and accountingComplex transactions, including related party transactions and those transactions involving long-lived assets and the requirement for periodic assessments for impairmentRecent experience working with large ERP systems (Oracle or SAP) and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM/FDM).Previous experience working with inside and outside auditors Preferred Qualifications: Experience at a multi-national public company a plusDemonstrated creativity and flexibility in problem solving and project collaboration.Inspiring manager of people with the proven ability to build high performing teamsSuperior organization and prioritization skillsHighly skilled in data analysis and proven ability to present financial data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to all levels of managementSuperior Excel modeling skillsWill be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
