R0019623 Senior Product Software Engineer (Performance Engineer, Cloud Engineering) - Remote Work from HomeJob DescriptionThe Senior Product Software Engineer (Performance Engineer) will lead and drive the platform's performance and scale efforts and play a key role in defining the process and best practices related to Performance Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to work with technologists who create award-winning and market defining products at a growing company. This position will report to the Platform Engineering Manager. ResponsibilitiesSpearhead and champion performance best practices, awareness, and initiatives across the platformRepresent performance team in design discussion to articulate performance and scalability considerationsManage, plan for, and execute continuous automated benchmark testing of new builds as part of the development lifecycleIdentify measurement and automation tools to streamline the benchmarking processManage, plan for, and execute large scale performance & scale (sizing and capacity) testsOwn and manage the performance and scale environmentIdentify areas for performance improvements, make code recommendations and test potential improvements with the R organization - architects, developers and infrastructure/devop engineersParticipate in and contribute to the ongoing refinement of the target architecture as new technologies become availableIdentify and report baseline application bottlenecks - latency and throughput metrics - on an ongoing basisIdentify performance/scale opportunities and prioritize them with respective product teams and following them to closure.Write and Execute load/performance test cases and scriptsEstablishing and maintaining relationships with key technology staff, both internal and clientsManage third party vendors who conduct performance testingAbility to organize yourself to meet deadlines, complete all deliverables, including documentationQualificationsBachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical discipline (Comp Sci, Soft Eng, Mathematics, Physics, Operational Research) or a related discipline5+ years' experience with application performance and scale experience in middleware, database, and infrastructure pieces such as load balancers, wafs, etc.Proven ability to design, implement, test, and analyze performance results; identify bottlenecks and performance issuesIn-depth knowledge of performance and profiling tools/techniques (server & source code)Working knowledge of APM tools, such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic etc.Demonstrate strong understanding of performance/load testing techniques and tools like JMeterSolid understanding of distributed systems architectureSolid experience scripting in bash, python etc.Ability to research performance tools, implement prototypes, and deliver solutions quicklyExperience/proficiency in linux (kernel v3.10+)Experience/proficiency with cloud-based SaaS and monitoring toolsExperience/proficiency in Docker / Containerization (Inc.
