The Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) researches, develops, and delivers nationally significant Cyber, Information Operations (IO) and Computer Network Operations (CNO) technologies. Our results provide leap-ahead capability to our DoD and IC customers, which include research and operational partners. Our applied research staff work in highly collaborative teams learning, pushing, and delivering cutting edge solutions to our nation's most challenging problems. We are looking for internship candidates with a passion for gaining a detailed understanding of how computer systems, software, and services work and interact with one another. This understanding provides the foundation for developing skill and competency in:- IO and CNO technologies- Reverse Engineering - OS/Network/Application Vulnerability Analysis - Secure OS/Network/Application design - Malware Analysis - Automated software testing - Firmware and OS level development Selected candidates will contribute to beyond state of the art contracted and internally funded R They can expect to become members of high-performing teams of world class research scientists and engineers who consistently deliver world best Cyber, IO, and CNO capabilities.The Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) focuses on research in revolutionary information technology concepts including classified research and development. ACL is ATL's center of excellence for independent and contract research and development for the classified and intelligence communities. ACL nurtures this growth by meeting the very specialized technology goals and security requirements of our classified customers while providing an environment wherein our technical talent can flourish beyond the leading edge. In ACL you will work with engineers and scientists integral to defining, researching, and developing basic and applied solutions. ACL is seeking passionate and talented engineers and scientists who are interested in researching and prototyping innovative ideas in one or more of the following areas:-OS/Network/Application security and evaluation improvements-OS/Network/Application secure design principles and development techniques-OS/Network/Application vulnerability assessments-Information operations - Tactics and Technologies-Reverse engineering techniques and toolsBasic Qualifications:Pursuing degree in technical disciplines such as: *Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, *or Mathematics- Eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)- SW development (ie C, C++, Python) on Windows, Linux, macOS, android, iOS- Debugging (eg gdb, windbg, OllyDbg, Valgrind)- Relevant Coursework in one or more of the following areas:*Software-based automation*Compiler design*Cyber security topics (vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, etc)*Machine-learning/Artificial Intelligence/Autonomy*Embedded Systems*Networking (fixed, mobile, security, implementation)Desired Skills:Strong candidates will be capable of performing well-defined applied research tasks, developing software modules, and have a basic understand of contemporary malware and defensive tools (PSPs, IDS, Firewalls, etc) Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: Top Secret Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
