Sheehy Auto Stores is looking for an EXPERIENCED Automotive Assistant Controller as our business continues to grow. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, and training all accounting staff as well as assisting the controller in month end closing reporting. Responsibilities* Oversee tasks to ensure that financial functions are reconciled monthly including (but not limited to): cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, manufacturer statements, payroll administration, vehicle deal commissioning, inter-company accounts * Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines as required Including monthly reconciliations, quarterly reporting etc. * Work closely with the Controller and General Managers to ensure all their financial and accounting needs are met and relevant analysis is performed * Lead, mentor, and coach an accounting team, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing of work, ensuring quality standards are met * Assist with the training process and ongoing development of the assigned team to ensure understanding and compliance with the accounting DMS, accounting policies, controls, reporting timelines and procedures * Interprets the daily operating reports and informs management of developing trends * Reinforces company policies and adheres to all company standards. Maintains and inspects for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations * Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable Qualification* Someone who not only can help oversee the Accounting Department but is actively involved in operation * 5+ years of experience in a dealership accounting office. * Experience with dealership management systems such as Reynolds/Ignite or CDK. Full knowledge of all aspects of the automotive accounting department * Excellent computer skills; Experience in Google Platform and Microsoft Office Suite * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experienced in developing a competent team * Able to work well with Managers as well as mentor/lead other team members * Able to work under pressure and prioritize * Authorized to work in the USA * Must have a valid driver's license * Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, and drug test Benefits* Health, Vision and Dental Insurance * Paid Training * Career Advancement * 401(K) with profit sharing Our company maintains a strong policy of equal employment opportunity for all associates.
