Tenure Track or Clinical Track Assistant-Associate-Full Professor - Ophthalmology The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Iowa State University (ISU) is excited to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, clinical-track or tenure-track faculty position in Ophthalmology in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) at the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC). The LVMC is a state-of- art teaching hospital that provides specialized and primary care as well as emergency services to companion and production animals throughout Iowa and the surrounding states. The CVM at ISU is also dedicated to providing a great educational experience to the next generation of veterinarians and advancing veterinary medicine through innovative research. The successful candidate will join an established, dynamic Ophthalmology Service that includes 2 faculty DACVOs, 3 ABVO residents and 2 devoted licensed technicians to help enhance the in-state and national prominence of ophthalmology activities at ISU. Clinical effort will be dedicated to professional practice and clinical instruction in the LVMC. The Ophthalmology Service experiences a strong and varied clinical caseload (over 2000 ophthalmology patients each year) with solid support from referring veterinarians. Non-clinical time will be dedicated to the development of a creative program of scholarship, didactic and laboratory teaching, academic service, and outreach activities. The ideal candidate may also have a unique clinical focus that will enhance the Ophthalmology service offerings in the LVMC.
