ESL Computer Assisted Language Lab (CALL) Instructor

We are in search of an ESL Computer Assisted Language Lab (CALL) Instructor to support the school’s mission by providing excellent contextualized instruction by teaching students how to use a computer in line with the ESL curriculum. The ESL CALL Instructor teaches basic computer skills in a way that is appropriate for students’ diverse educational backgrounds, learning styles, and English language abilities.


• Co-plan with all assigned ESL teachers before each class and complete co-planning template including all activities and roles of each teacher for each activity

• Co-plan a semester-long outline of a syllabus with each ESL teacher 

• Co-instruct the class, Plan and differentiates instructions for different learning styles and abilities

• Create a semester-long lab schedule

• Administer “Can Do” self-evaluation pre-test and post-test. Administer assessment and evaluates students’ progress using data

• Teach the CALL curriculum

• Prepare handouts and activities, Create a positive learning environment for adult learner

• Work effectively with a paraeducators or tutor if needed for student success

• Stay current on the types of technology students are using outside of school to make the learning as useful for students as possible

• Encourage higher order thinking skills and foster critical thinking that will help students’ be safe online

• Communicate instruction to students on a level they understand

• Monitor and evaluates student performance and modifies instruction accordingly

• Monitor student progress through and accurately fills out tracking forms and submits them in a timely manner

• Implement classroom policies and procedures

• Select class textbooks, prepares lesson materials and instructional aids

• Keep daily attendance records current in the Student Information System • Fill out tracking forms and submit them in a timely manner

•  Develop and uses e-portfolio assessment to help document student progress

• Keep track of student goals related to academic progress and employment

• Attend faculty meetings and professional development

• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a combination of two of the following:

    o Teaching Certification

    o Master’s degree in Adult Education, Linguistics, TESOL, language studies or related field

     o At least three years of teaching experience

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Knowledge and experience using online learning tools (Zoom, Remind, G-Suite, etc.), and Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience in ESL and Adult Education preferred

• Demonstrate knowledge and competence in both ESL preparation and Adult Education

• Must be flexible and able to make adaptations to meet the academic needs of students with different learning skills and challenges

• Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds

• Excellent communication skills, be able to explain concepts to others effectively

• Excellent organizational skills and timely completion of tasks • Fluently speak, read and write in English

• Knowledge and experience using Windows and Internet Explorer

• Must be able to provide proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination
