Description Robert Half's Accounting Operations division is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join an innovative and industry leading organization offering stability and growth opportunities.Overview:The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Accounting team by handling a range of functions to include, but not limited to:+ Process accounts payable invoices and match PO's to invoices and receipts.+ Process accounts receivable, post cash/payments, and perform light collections.+ Process credits/debits to customer accounts.+ Assist with researching and resolving billing issues as needed.+ Handle journal entries, balance sheets, and bank/account reconciliations.+ Assist with month-end closing procedures, fixed asset management, and sales tax return filings.+ Assist with tracking project changes, maintaining job costs, and reconciling invoices and receipts as things change over the course of the project.+ Maintain AS400 platform, download and extract data, and create reports.+ Assist with clerical work (mail, packages, phones, etc.) and other tasks as needed. Requirements + 2-5+ years of general accounting experience required (AP, AR, billing, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close procedures etc.) and basic understanding of debits and credits.+ Accounting software experience and ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently; AS400 or Infor software experience is a plus. + Experience working on an accounting team within the manufacturing, construction, engineering, architectural, IT services, or related industries is a plus. + Strong spreadsheet management skills including intermediate Excel (basic pivot tables, formulas).+ Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels as well as bring new ideas to the table to help streamline/automate processes. + Strong attention to detail, level of accuracy, and organizational skills. + Must be dependable and able to successfully operate independently with a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality. + Analytical and numbers oriented with the ability to analyze data and effectively problem-solve. + Self-motivated, takes initiative, resourceful, and proactive.
