Senior Database AnalystGeorge Mason University is seeking a service-orientated, self-starter to serve as a Senior Database Analyst in the Database, Middleware and ERP Support team. This is a full-time classified staff position with benefits. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (a few days in the office with the remaining days teleworking).George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:This Senior Database Analyst will be responsible for maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery of the database supporting George Mason University's ERP (Ellucian Banner). This position is also responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting the Banner applications. The candidate must have strong communication skills to be able to work with both technical and nontechnical staff and vendor support to ensure successful implementation, configuration, administration and maintenance of assigned databases and applications. Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting performance and data integrity issues are a must.Required Qualifications:Oracle 11g or higher Oracle database certification (OCP);Experience with Oracle database management;Performance analysis, query optimization, and SQL tuning ability;Strong experience with disaster recovery and business continuity concepts and practices;Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to deliver outstanding customer service, effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels and vendor support, as well as work collaboratively within a team environment; andKnowledge of Scripting Language- Shell (Linux), SQL, PL-SQL, Oracle relational databases.Preferred Qualifications:BS or higher degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent combination of educational and work experience;Significant demonstrated experience (typically 8+ years) in Oracle database administration;Experience with Oracle Weblogic and WebTier;Experience with Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall (AVDF); andExperience upgrading and administrating the Ellucian Banner ERP applications.Salary commensurate with experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
