The Business Integration Director leads business unit and/or department integration initiatives, engages cross-functional teams, and manages projects across multiple business units in a matrixed environment. Raises issues and integrates initiatives, solutions, and actions for management. Represents senior leadership on enterprise workgroups and executes critical leadership initiatives. Leverages strategic insights to develop solutions and collaborates with senior leadership to resolve systemic issues.

Responsibilities

  • Leads cross-functional teams on strategic company objectives across business units and disciplines. Identifies opportunities for efficiencies in organizational processes or programs and resolves challenges to optimize results. Provides data analysis and reporting to senior leadership. Organizes, problem solves, raises issues, and integrates initiatives, solutions, and actions for management.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements projects across multiple business units and functions. Determines scope and deliverables, establishes timelines, tracks budgets as needed and evaluates execution. Ensures adherence to internal and external quality standards. Organizes cross-functional project teams and leads internal and external team members and stakeholders to deliver on project goals. Establishes project communication plans and communicates results with internal/external stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Leverages strategic insight to identify trends and resolves systemic issues across functions and ensures strong communication within a matrixed environment. Acts as a liaison to resolve problems and to ensure successful implementation of company initiatives.
  • Represents senior leadership on internal working groups. Develops, advises, supports, coordinates, and collaborates on high-level strategic projects across multiple business units.
  • Provides strategic advice and counsel to colleagues on the implementation of the organization's priorities. Assesses needs and works with senior leadership to develop and implement systemic solutions as needed. Identifies and recommends best practices and resources to achieve strategic goals.
  • Tracks external trends across disciplines, assesses impact of those trends on strategies and/or operations, and works with senior leadership to adjust strategies and/or operations accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position and 8+ years of experience, preferably with some focus on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated independent work to define and contain complex problems, prioritizing effectively, and delivering quickly.
  • Experience creating and driving program processes which enable smooth execution, continuous improvement, and minimal waste.
  • Outstanding partner management, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical global, cross-functional groups.
  • High attention-to-detail and ability to distill sophisticated ideas into clear guidance and communications in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
