Duties

  • You will develop computer software for use in simulating and analyzing electronic warfare systems.
  • You will research all phases of simulation development.
  • You will assume technical responsibility for one or two complete problems in the field of electronic warfare.
  • You will be expected to form a technical approach and work directly with other NRL personnel, assuming technical leadership to execute tasks.
  • You will be expected to give detailed briefings and communicate effectively before sponsors and colleagues.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic education requirements your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05/10 grade level or pay band (NP-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1,) Developing computer software for use in simulating and analyzing electronic warfare systems; 2.) Developing software tools to investigate the properties of numerical and statistical software packages and data visualization programs; 3.) Researching all phases of simulation development; AND 4.) Giving detailed briefings and communicating effectively before sponsors and colleagues.

Education

Basic Education Requirements:

A. Degree: mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite.
