Overview: We want you to be an integral part of an innovative, creative, and energetic group of team members supporting a government client in Washington, DC Steampunk is looking for a Systems Engineer to support one of our federal customers. The Systems Engineer will support a dynamic team that provides engineering services across a variety of platforms and technology. Contributions: The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who is interested in learning the latest technology and has a proven ability to learn quickly and apply training to solve real world engineering problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Experience with Zscaler technologies including ZPA, ZIA, and ZDXFamiliar with building and supporting connectors and connector groups within ZscalerBackground with Identity and Access Management (IAM)Experience with Active Directory and AD group policiesExperience planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software; managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipmentManaging systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverabilityResolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problemsIntegrating hardware and software components within the systems environmentEvaluating new systems engineering technologies and their effect on the operating environment managing the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements Qualifications: US CitizenMinimum of Five (5) years of experience managing IT systems at the senior level and/or;Associate's Degree, with a preference of Bachelor's degree, or higher, in an IT-related field.Minimum of 1 Technical Certification MCSE: Infrastructure (or MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure), MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect, MCSA: Windows Server 2012 or Higher, Red Hat, etc.).Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team. Ability to research and resolve problems efficiently and accurately.Strong system and network troubleshooting ability.Windows Server 2016 and 2019 installation, patching, and server role management, including DNS, IIS, Certification Authority ManagementPowerShell scripting experience requiredActive Directory object and unique attribute managementWindows Server build automation a plus (ie Orchestration)Workstation, web browser (Edge, Chrome) and other application lockdownDocumentation a forethought, including SOP creation, lifecycle, and task managementProactive member of the team - find issues, find solutions; Provide data and metrics to management Preferred Skills:Ability to maintain workload in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing prioritiesExperience supporting systems in Agile and DevOps environments.
