Position Description The Finance Department at the Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington, is recruiting to hire at least one full-time tenure eligible Assistant Professor and/or one full-time faculty member at an open-rank (as either a tenure-track Assistant Professor, as a tenured Associate Professor, or as a tenured Professor) for the 2023-2024 academic year, with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2023. Tenure-track faculty have an annual service period of nine months. University of Washington faculty members engage in research, teaching, and service. Duties include conducting high-quality scholarly research in finance or a related field, and effectively teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Qualifications Candidates must have, or for assistant professor appointments, be nearing completion of, a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in finance or related field. A qualified candidate may be considered for temporary appointment as an Acting Assistant Professor, pending PhD with conversion to appointment as an Assistant Professor after degree conferral if the terminal degree has not been conferred by the position start date. Applicants for tenured positions will evidence sustained research and teaching excellence.
