You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we redefine experience for our customers. Position DescriptionOur Engineer II is a key member of the engineering staff working across Business Services Engineering, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Infrastructure Engineering to ensure that we provide a fiction-less experience to our customers, maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has the broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between. Position ResponsibilitiesScope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems.Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization.Utilize programming languages like .NET, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services.Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution.Qualifications Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.Fluency with C# or similar languages.Experience working in Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe).In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsUnderstanding of existing Operational Portals such as Azure PortalUnderstanding of HTML-5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON and RESTful Web ServicesUnderstanding of Monitoring Tools such as Splunk or Application InsightsIntermediate PowerShell scripting skillsIntermediate level understanding of Azure Network such as security zones, VNETs, and Public Peered ServicesUnderstanding of Azure PaaS and IaaS servicesStrong problem-solving abilityStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication).
