SRC, Inc. is seeking a senior systems engineer. The program seeks a subject matter expert (SME) in ground systems engineering and development (as part of an overall space-based mission). Specifically, the SME will advise the government on all technical aspects associated with all ground segment functions including IT security, external interfaces, space to ground interfaces, mission planning, mission data processing, system testing support, problem resolution, sustainment, acquisition strategy development and execution. As the ground systems expert, work with government, other program SETA, development contractors, external mission partners and their contractor support to help manage ongoing projects focused on systems enhancements and/or sustainment.Responsibilities Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.Required Skills/Qualifications/Education: TS/SCI w/CI poly BS in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent) with 10 - 12 yrs of relevant experience or a Master's with 8 - 10 yrs of experience. Four years of additional relevant experience (all aspects of RF space systems acquisition) can be substituted for BS degree. Recent experience working IT security development of ground segments as part of overall space based mission. Must be a team player and possess a strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team as well as work independently with minimal supervision Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization. Demonstrated ability to work with customers providing detailed and unbiased feedback, guidance, and recommendations Good time management skills; ability to support multiple projects; ability to multi-task Excellent communication skills Must be proactive and forward leaning.Desired Skills/Qualifications/Education:Experience with NUO customer missions or agency mission systems.Significant experience with mission planning and command & control segment SW/HW systems.
