This System Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) position, supports the Inteligence Community (IC) client's Communications Directorate, Digital Workspace Solutions Group (DSG). Using a technical advisory approach, develops and/or evaluates requirements, end-to-end desktop solutions, systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Evaluates requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Responsibilities include: Applying knowledge and experience with desktop systems to provide valued support and advice. Reviewing, reporting, and tracking requirements that support DSG initiatives. Preparing materials for, and supporting review boards. Provide business support functons that may include reviewing estimates, budgets and other financial aspects. Assisting the client to maintain and manage group HW/SW budgets for Systems including licenses, dates, and costs to procure HW/SW. Providing recommendations to improve solutions and outcomes. Developing high level product development strategies. Coordinating development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product/solution Acting as customer advisor and providing support for solution development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Working with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop solutions. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability. Reviewing test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the requirements and may participates in the testing process to validate requirements. Required: 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD. Bachelor s degree preferably in science or engineering. 5-7 years of experience providing digital workspace support to large organizations. Experience in modernizing desktop solutions, workstation, voice and video teleconferencing technologies. Experience with thick and thin client devices. Experience with classified and unclassified desktop solutions, preferably within the NRO. Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
