Overview: Acuity, Inc. seeks a dynamic, self-motivated Database Administrator to support our federal government client. The qualified professional will serve as a Database Administrator supporting multiple development, test, and production SQL database environments in Windows 2012 for multiple software development efforts. The Database Administrator will be responsible for installing, upgrading, and patching, designing backup and recovery procedures, importing/exporting database schemas, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and PL/SQL. In addition, the Database Administrator will need to write complex queries and perform SQL tuning and database performance tuning, as well as be responsible for maintaining ERDs and data dictionaries, troubleshooting database-related issues, and deploying database changes to development, test, and production environments. This position requires Secret clearance. Responsibilities: The Database Administrator's key duties and responsibilities include: Ability to independently design, build, administer, manage, and maintain databases (primarily SQL Server) for multiple administrative softwares for the Federal Government that reside in MS Azure.Management of cloud databases such as SQL Cloud and Postgressql flexible server.Tune databases to improve performance on high transaction systems.Support software development and system integration teams working on large, cloud-based administrative applications.Assess change requests, defects, trouble reports, and ad hoc database query requests and make recommendations to government management on design approaches and alternatives.Experience developing tests, testing approaches, and creating test data to ensure that databases are of the highest possible quality prior to deployment into the production environment.Projects long- range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers.Designing, implementing, and maintaining database environments by creating physical schemas and logical structures that conform to business requirements and industry standards.Maintain reporting and data integration processes using SSRS and SSIS.Develop custom database objects (T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, tables, views, functions.Analyze relational and storage engine issues and provide appropriate solutions.High level of OLTP and OLAP/DSS database administration expertise.Create and maintain customized database reports and perform data analysis using PowerBI.Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, training.Responsible for synchronizing and migrating data and database objects between development,quality assurance, and production environments.Support the development of data loads and extracts. Qualifications: Must have at least 5 years of experience in managing databases, particularly must with encryption methodologies, performance tuning, and high availability configuration.Must possess experience with SQL 2019 database administration.Understanding of deployment pipelines to production environments (Jenkins, Azure pipelines).Azure DevOps skills such as Git repository, security groups and Azure Active Directory.Strong skills designing, developing and maintaining stored procedures, views, tables, T-SQL scripts, creating associated documentation.Understanding of Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS administration.Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.Hands-on experience with cloud services Microsoft Azure, Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.Advanced knowledge in database security is required.Experience maintaining multiple large database systems consisting of normalized and de-normalized data and table structures.Proficient in ETL operations using (but not limited to) SSIS (integration Services).Experience with physical data modeling techniques including use of indexes, materialized views, system aggregates, etc.Desired Skills:SQL Server Failover instance configuration and Availability Groups (AGs)MS Azure certification Clearance Requirements:Must have an Active Secret-level government clearanceAbout Acuity, IncAcuity is a leading management and technology consulting firm that specializes in serving the federal government.
